Night Reconnaissance flight No. 4
53º 6’ 2” Lat.
127º 17’ 4” Long.
In the steel hard, transparent winter night,
Between the legs of Black Dome Mountain,
The light of the Moon is milked into the river:
Pure, filtered through the lace of rocks
That wreaths the entrance of the fork,
Like a bouquet of black thorned acacia
Rooted in the interior.
Fourteen billion watts are frozen, yet
Salmon are already running toward its heart.
That takes courage;
There will be more of man than of fish,
When I fall from the sky at sunrise.
